Nutritionist Chayevska: Two to four cups of green tea a day will help the brain

Freshly brewed green tea can help brain function, said nutritionist Natalia Chayevska.

The doctor called green tea a natural “doping” for the brain. “The main secret is in its composition: vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, catechins. It is worth mentioning the catechin EGCG separately, as it is responsible for “cellular cleaning”, which helps the brain get rid of accumulated toxins,” Chayevskaya noted. The specialist advised drinking two to four cups of high-quality freshly brewed tea per day to get a positive effect.

She clarified that green tea should be brewed for two to three minutes at a water temperature of 70-80 degrees. Due to the caffeine content, sensitive people may experience rapid heartbeat or trouble sleeping if consumed in excess, she warned.

In addition, Chayevskaya noted that before including green tea in the diet, people with gastrointestinal diseases should consult a doctor. People with anemia are recommended not to drink tea immediately after a meal, but to take a break for at least an hour, the nutritionist concluded.
